Tip Top
In 1936 Len and Albert, opened an ice cream parlour in Manners St, Wellington. Unknowing to them this was to become a national icon loved by generations of New Zealanders. They started created their own ice creams launching their first novelty ice cream bar in 1950's with Eskimo Pie. Then Topsy their first ice cream on a stick.
In 1962, these Kiwi upstarts built the Southern Hemisphere’s largest and most advanced centre for ice cream excellence – the ice cream factory most commonly known to Aucklanders as Tip Top corner. Tip Top’s innovation has been the key to its success, Tip Top has produced iconic products that stand the test of time like Jelly Tip, Choc Bar, Trumpet and Memphis Meltdown – the first triple dipped ice cream on the planet!
