I haven't felt set in my design or like its going anywhere, I feel I need to like it to a character or animal as I am not a strong drawer to bring a connection to my character.

I have been looking at New Zealand animals as Tip Top started out here and is an icon for this country. Here are some images/animals that I feel could work.

Flax snail

Sea Lion

Fur Seal

Kākāpō

Morepork

Fiordland crest penguin

Little penguin

Another thought I had was animals that live in the "ice" Antarctic as a play on ice cream. Some images/animals that would be funny to play around with. Giving them a cartoon 'cute' aesthetic.

Looking into both these there are similar animals families that are native to New Zealand that people often associate with the south pole like penguins and seals. As trumpet is a summer thing and Tip Top exaggerates the beach and sun in all there adds. 

Having an animal that lives on beaches and likes the sun but it also associated with the ice, snow and cold weather I feel is a great character for trumpets.
